Molasses Cookie Christmas Trees

Ingredients
Directions
1 cup Molasses 16 tbsp Shortening, Crisco 1 cup Granulated Sugar 3 tsp Baking Soda 1 large Egg, fresh, whole, raw 5 cup Flour - Gold medal all purpose flour 1 tsp Cream Of Tartar 1 tsp Salt 2 tsp Cinnamon, ground 1 tsp Ginger, ground .5 tsp Cloves, ground .5 tsp Allspice 1 cup (8 fl oz) Water, tap hot
Combine wet ingredients except water.
Combine dry ingredients except baking soda.
Mix wet and dry. Meanwhile add 1c boiling water to the baking soda in a large dish (will bubble) then add yo the combined mixture.
Place flour on the cupboard, roll to desired thickness and cut.
Bake at 350 degrees for approximately 24 minutes.
