Vegetarian Black Bean Soup

Ingredients
1 lb black beans1 tbsp Canola oil6-8 large vine ripe tomatoes2" ginger root chopped1 medium onion chopped3 tsp salt1 tbsp cayenne pepper1 tbsp "Dal Makhni" masala
Directions
Put in the black beans, ginger, salt and water in a slow cooker and cook for about 4 hrs. When beans are partially done, saute onion in a pan, add tomatoes, cayenne pepper and dal makhni masala. When tomatoes are soft, add to the beans in the slow cooker and cook for an additional 4 hrs.
