1/2 onion, diced3 cloves garlic2 cups chicken broth1 pint diced tomatoes1 6 oz can tomato paste1 lb turkey italian sausage1 tbsp sugar1 tsp cumin1/4 tsp red pepper1/4 tsp black pepper3 peppers (red, green, orange/yellow), chopped12 oz penne noodles - about 4 cups dry
Directions
Makes 6-7 cups of sauce and cooked noodles each. One serving equals one cup noodles and one cup sauce.

    This was delicious! Used Whole Wheat Penne. My husband and I both really enjoyed the sauce. Great distinct flavor. I didn't have diced tomatoes, subbed 4 oz of chopped baby spinach I needed to use up & used 3 c of water/3 boullion cubes-thanks-will make again! - 6/1/11
