Chicken and pasta in tomato sauce

One 8 oz can of tomato sauce4 cups of water1 tbsp garlic powder1 tbsp onion powder2 tbsp taco seasoning1/2 teaspoon black pepper1 cup of uncooked whole grain elbow macaroni (or any pasta of your choosing)4 cans (15 oz. size) of green beans4 fully cooked chicken breasts
Place 4 cups of water, 1 small 8 oz. can of tomato sauce, and spices into a large pot. Place pot on top of stove. Cover and cook over medium/high heat until the mixture comes to a boil. Remove cover and add the 1 cup of uncooked whole grain pasta. Let cook, covered, (stir occasionaly) until mixture again come to boil. Reduce heat to a simmer and cook for about 10 minutes or until pasta is soft. After pasta is soft, add the 4 (15 oz.).cans of green beans to the pot. Shred the 4 cooked chicken breasts and add to the pot. Let simmer for 15 more minutes or until chicken and green beans are heated through. Makes approx. 12 one cup servings. Enjoy!

Sounds good, but how can it only be 88 cal. when pasta is approx. 180 cal per serving? - 10/16/08

Hello, thanks for the question. While the calorie count for pasta is high, there is only 1 cup of pasta distributed throughout the entire 12 servings of this dish. Thus, 88 calories per serving . :)
