Bora's Tempeh Bacon

Ingredients
2 ounces tempeh (your choice of flavors)1 tasblespoon lite soy sauce1 teaspoon Splenda1/2 teaspoon liquid smoke flavoring1 teaspoon molasses
Directions
Slice the tempeh into thin bacon-like slices. Mix all other ingredients together well, adding a few teaspoons of water if needed to dissolve the molasses well. Marinate the tempeh slices for a few minutes (or do this overnight). Slowly over low-medium heat, cook the slices in a nonstick skillet until browned to desired amount on each side. Makes 1 (one) serving.

    Yummy, but not what I would use as a bacon substitute. I prefer tofu-based "bacon." Still, I liked the seasoning! I did it overnight and used 1 T sugar instead of Splenda (that stuff gives me a headache). - 2/14/10
