Ingredients
Directions
5 cups flour2 tbsp anise seed2 tbsp baking powder5 eggs2 cups sugar11/2 cups oil
makes 75 cookies, 1 X 2 inches.
Mix together in a large bowl--flour, anise seed and baking powder. In another large bowl, beat eggs, sugar and oil with a spoon until lemon-colored.
Add dry ingredients to the egg mixture and stir with a spoon. It will be very stiff.
Press mixture into a 15 by 10 inch cookie sheet (if using a different size, the nutrition facts will be different for each cookie, but wont cause problems with the cookies themselves).
Bake at 350 for 30 minutes. Cookies will be soft. Cut pieces and turn them on their sides on the cookie sheet. Turn off the oven and put the cookies back in for 30 more minutes. This makes them dry and crispy. Store in a covered container. Freezes well.
