Ingredients
1/2 cup unsweetened applesauce1/2 cup white sugar1/4 cup brown sugar1 egg1/2 cup all-purpose flour1/2 cup whole wheat pastry flour1/2 teaspoon baking soda1/2 teaspoon ground nutmeg1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon2 cups chopped peeled baking apples
Directions
In a mixing bowl, combine applesauce and sugars. Beat in the egg. Add flours, baking soda, nutmeg and cinnamon; mix well. Stir in apples. Turn into a greased 8 in. square baking pan. Bake at 350 degrees for 30-35 minutes or until cake tests done. Yield : 9 servings
