Dad's Casserole

1 lb extra lean ground beef2 8oz cans tomato sauce2 cloves of garlic, minced1 Tbsp salt2 Tbsp sugar1 8oz pkg Fat Free Cream Cheese, softened1 cup Light Sour Cream6 green onions, diced1 cup shredded cheddar cheese8 oz egg noodles, cooked al dente and drained
Preheat oven to 350.
In a large skillet, brown the ground beef, drain. Add the tomato sauce, sugar, salt, and minced garlic, simmer on low about 5-10 minutes.
Meanwhile, in a small bowl combine the cream cheese, sour cream, and green onions.
Remove beef mixture from heat, add in the cooked, drained eggnoodles and toss.
Spray 2-quart baking dish with non-stick cooking spray. Spread 1/2 of egg noodle mixture on the bottom. Spread all of the cream cheese mixture over that. Top with the rest of the egg noodle mixture. Bake at 350 about 30 minutes. You can cover it with foil if you don't want it to brown, but i like the top to get crunchy.
Remove from oven and sprinkle with cheddar, bake another 5 minutes to melt. Serves 8. Great with side salad.
