barley and lentil soup

Ingredients
3/4 cup pearl barley3/4 cup lentils1 med onion1 med red potato1 med carrot (9 baby carrots)2 tsp garlic1 can stewed tomato1 med yellow squashfresh spinach to tastesaltpeppercumin32 oz chicken broth3-4 cups water (more if needed)
Directions
chop vegetables
add all ingredients to pot or cast iron skillet (for higher iron content)
boil over med heat until lentils are cooked.
