Squash and Apple Bake

1 medium Buttercup Squash 4 medium Apples 1/4 cup, packed Brown Sugar1/4 cup Butter, unsalted 1/2 cup Walnuts1 tbsp Cinnamon or 3 cinnamon sticks1 tsp Vanilla Extract
Heat oven 350 degrees. Peel and cut squash in half. Remove seeds and fibers. Cut squash in crescents or however you wish. Peel and cut apples.
Spread squash and apples in a baking dish.
In a pan, melt butter. Add brown sugar and vanilla extract and stir. Bury cinnamon sticks in or sprinkle ground cinnamon. Spread butter sugar mixture over squash and apples. Add walnuts.
Cover all with foil. Bake for 50 minutes or until squash is tender. Remove foil and bake for another 10 minutes to brown top.
If using cinnamon sticks: make sure to remove sticks once cooled. Makes 8 servings. Enjoy!
