Overnight Oats

Ingredients
Milk, nonfat, 4 cups Half and Half Cream, 4 cupsSteel Cut Oats, dry, 2 cups *Sucralose (like Splenda), 8 tsp * You can use whatever milk source you prefer - I just happened to have these on hand. Another favorite of mine is to use unsweetened almond milk, which significantly lowers the calories and fat grams.* Optional - add nuts or dried fruits if you like
Directions
Stir all ingredients together in a large crockpot. Set on high heat overnight.

    I would try cooking the oats in just water first, and adding the dairy before serving, to suit varied caloric needs. This seems like a good idea to just cook it overnight, and I plan on measuring out the leftovers for warmup later in the week. I may test it adding eggs like a custard. Thanks! - 1/11/09

    I've tried cooking them in water first, and find them to be quite bland. The almond milk has 40 calories per cup, so that can bring down the caloric content, if needed. When I made this batch, I was trying to use up what was in my fridge. :)
