Chick Pea Curry

Ingredients
* *Chick Peas, 3 cup (remove) * *Crisco Pure Vegetable Oil, 1 tbsp * Onions, raw, 1 medium (2-1/2" dia) * Garlic, 2 clove * Salt, 1 dash * Pepper, black, 1 dash * Curry powder, 1 tbsp * Ginger, ground, 1 tsp * Tomato Sauce, 3 cup * Lime Juice, 1 wedge yields
Directions
chop onion and garlic and cook in tbs oil. add spices and cook until fragrant, add chick peas and tomato sauce and 1 1/2 c. water and bring to a boil. Reduce heat and simmer, stirring occationally for 8 to 10 minutes.

Stir in lime juice.

Makes 4 serving. Can serve over rice, can serve with low fat plain yogurt as garnish. Neither of these included in the calorie count.

    sprouted the beans and ate raw w/ cold tomato sauce.I thought it was good the first time I tried it, but then I really didn't like it the second time. I tried warming it in the microwave, and I still didn't care for it. Next time I will try it w/ the beans cooked like the recipe calls for. - 6/17/09
