Mom's Swiss Steak w/ Mashed Potatoes

Ingredients
1 lb Cubed Beef Steak2 c fresh mushrooms1 tbsp black pepper1 dash salt4 lrg potatoes, cubed1/2 c white flour1 c nonfat milke (for potatoes)1 tsp margarine (for potatoes)dash of salt and pepper (for potatoes)
Directions
Brown beef steaks in deep skillet. When browned fill skillet with water, and let simmer for two hours. During this time, I cube and boil the potatoes. I mash them with a tiny amount of milk, margarine and salt and pepper. I like them to have lots of texture.I also slice the mushrooms and add them in when there is only 1/2 hour left to go. After the mushrooms are tender, I wisk the flour in with some warm water in a seperate bowl. This will help to make a gravy without lump and without butter. Add this mixture into the pan and stir. Serve alongside the potatoes and with a fresh in season vegetable for a delicious hearty meal.
