Ginger Muffins

Ingredients
1/2 cup shortening1/2 cup sugar1 egg1 cup molasses3 cups sifted all-purpose flour1 1/2 tsp sodda1/2 tsp salt1 tsp cinnamon1 tsp giner1/2 tsp cloves1 cup hot water
Directions
cream together shortening and sugar
Beat in egg, then molasses. Sift together dry ingredients; stir into molasses mixture. Gradually add hot water, beating till smooth. Fill greased muffin pans 2/3 full. Bake at 375 degrees 20 to 25 minutes. Makes 2 dozen
