Caramel Apple Pie

Ingredients
1 c. flour1/2 tsp. salt1/3 c. + 1 tbsp. shortening2 1/4 tbsp. cold water5 apples1 c. sugar1 tsp. cinnamon1/2 tsp. nutmeg1 tbsp. flour6 caramel squares1 c. flour3/4 c. brown sugar3/4 stick margarine
Directions
Mix 1 c. flour, 1/2 tsp. salt, 1/3 c. + 1 tbsp. shortening together until crumbly with pastry blender; then add 2 1/4 tbsp. cold water. Mix until it forms a ball. Roll out between wax paper. Place in a pie pan.

Peel apples and slice; add 1 c. sugar, 1 tsp. cinnamon, 1/2 tsp nutmeg, 1 tbsp. flour. Stir lightly and place into pie crust. Top with crumb topping.

Crumb topping:
Mix together 1 c. flour, 3/4 c. brown sugar, and 3/4 stick margarine with pastry blender. Spread over pie.

Bake at 400 degrees for 40 minutes.
