1.25 Cups of packed dark brown sugar1/2 Cup (1 stick) unsalted butter1/2 (.5) Cup heavy whipping cream
In a heavy sauce pan, over medium heat, melt brown sugar and butter, stir with whisk until the butter melts.
Stir in the cream with the whisk, stir and cook until the sugar melts and the sauce is smooth.
Can be kept in the refrigerator and warmed up for use later.

This is the second time I've made this, and it's fabulous! First time, i just used a stick of margarine i had so it turned out a bit salty, but still tasty. This time around I had unsalted butter, and the sauce came out so yummy! I use it on my caramel cheescake - great consistency! - 10/13/10

Cool! So glad you liked it! I made it myself a couple nights ago to go on top of some home made pumpkin bread pudding. It was good as always! (Yes, butter IS best ;-)

That's the way I feel about it too :-) It's for special occasions so that's how I justify making and eating it!
