Ingredients
1 whole roasting chicken1 tsp paprika1/2 tsp onion powder1 tsp pepper1 tsp cayenne pepper1 tsp garlic powder1 small onion, chopped
Directions
This recipe is for the crockpot. Combine the chicken and the dry ingredients in a gallon size ziplock bag. Store in fridge overnight. The next morning, dump the entire contents of the bag into the crock pot. Set it to low and go about your business for the day (approx. 8-10 hours on low setting)! Best served with rice, bulgar, or cous cous. The skin will be spicy, and the chicken will fall apart...so use caution if you try to extract the entire bird. All of my family (kids included) love this!

Very good! Husband said this is now on the "A" list! I did add a bit more spices and added about 1 cup of home made chicken broth. - 2/6/10

Can't believe how EASY this recipe is (store overnight in a slow cooker liner bag then you just pop in the crockpot the next morning). Love that I don't have to add oil or butter. I've made twice in the past 2 weeks. Used tonight's chicken to make soup. - 1/30/10

Wow, what a great recipe, this chicken is the tastiest yet! - 1/3/10

The nutritional facts are absolutely not correct. They calculated it based on the weight of a one pound chicken - EIGHT SERVINGS from a one pound chicken [wouldn't that be a cornish hen?? Good luck dividing THAT into 8!] - 4/27/12

Are these nutritional facts correct? 36.5 calories per serving? - 5/4/11

I made this recipe using 7 boneless chicken breasts and it's great! The chicken is so juicy and tender. All I had to do was just pull the meat apart. I put it over a bed of couscous, because I don't care much for too much spice and it helps to cut down on the spiciness. - 1/17/11

Because I use only chicken breasts and wasn't sure how well they'd cook on their own, I took the marinated breasts and made soup (covered the breasts with 4 cups of broth, added 4 diced potatoes and a pound of sliced carrots). The spices make a very tasty soup! I'll be making this again!! - 5/3/10

Awesome! Made yesterday and my whole family loved it. I used 7lb whole chicken, chopped onion and added to bottom of pot before adding chicken. Cooked on low for 8hrs. I removed to a baking sheet (the legs and wings fell off but no prob) and then put under the broiler to crisp - 3/9/10

This chicken is awesome and easy...A hit in my home including my 7 year old son who is a picky eater and he wolfed it down and went back for thirds. - 7/16/09

Very moist chicken - might try throwing in some veggies next time for a complete one pot meal. - 10/9/12

Awesome! Love this recipe. So easy to make and so delicious. Could especially taste the heat in the dark meat. Will cook chicken upside down next time to try to get more flavor in the white meat. - 2/6/12

My husband wishes we could give this a 3 1/2 stars. It was all right, we used chicken breasts instead of a whole chicken. It didn't scream "BEST RECIPE EVER" at me, but it was pretty good. We'll make again, just not super often. - 8/21/11

Great recipe, and so easy! The outside is really spicy, and the inside is mildly flavored for those that don't want that much heat. Leftovers are great, too! - 9/15/10

This was wonderful. I have to admit that I did not have all the spices listed, so I "substituted" for them. However, the recipe was delicious, the chicken was falling off the bone tender and my family wants to try it again.
    This is definitely a repeat. - 8/24/10

Has anyone tried cooking this using Chicken breast rather than a whole chicken? - 5/25/10
