Ingredients
2 Cups brussel sprouts, trimmed and halvedGenerous amount of fat free cooking spray (butter flavour)

Trim and cut brussel sprouts in half lengthwise. In a saucepan, cover with cold water and bring to a boil.

Let brussel sprouts boil for only 2 minutes.

Strain brussel sprouts.

Spray pre-heated skillet very generously with butter flavoured, non-fat cooking spray (or you could use butter for a few more calories).

Lay brussel sprouts cut-side down in the skillet, cover and let caramalize for about 10 munites on med/low heat.

When the Brussel Sprouts are nicely browned on the cut-side and firm, but fork tender they are ready to serve!

I used a well-oiled cast iron skillet, cooked them longer than recommended (probably because of the skillet), and they came out great! - 12/11/10

This is the first time I've ever made brussel sprouts and it is a good recipe. I may have needed to let them drain a little more as well to get a little better carmalization. Thanks for sharing! I'll try this again, (btw, I hated brussel sprouts as a kid)! - 11/18/10

Can't rate as the sprouts didn't caramelize. Guess they weren't strained enough so I'll try again. My daughter liked them. - 9/27/09

I LOVE brussel sprouts, but never really knew how to cook them, so stuck to frozen. I got some at the Farmer's Market today and immediately checked here for recipes. This was delicious, only change was that I used Brummel and Brown spread vs. the spray butter. - 3/28/09
