Ingredients
Raw Orange Masoor dal - 0.5 cup, 2 serving (remove)*Canola Oil, 1.5 tbsp (remove)Red Ripe Tomatoes, 1 large whole (3" dia) (remove)Onions, raw, 1 medium (2-1/2" dia) (remove)*Cumin seed, 1 tsp (remove)Mustard seed, yellow, 1 tsp (remove)
Directions
Wash and boil orange masoor dal with 8-9 cups water, salt and jaggery. Add cumin and coriander powder and red chilli powder. The final cooked consistency should be a thick mush and not watery. Turn off heat and add a dash of lemon juice.
Heat oil separately, add mustard and cumin. When starts spluttering add hing and chopped onions. Fry and then add chopped tomato. Pour fried mix over cooked dal and stir and serve.
