I really like this stew, but I get frustrated when the recipes don't tell you the size of the serving. Am I supposed to make the whole recipe first, divy it up into 4 portions, and that is my serving size? That seems like a hassle. - 3/11/10

215 cal for no quantities??? This isn't a recipe, it's an idea. I'll give it 1 star for the idea. - 1/17/14

I added beef broth & a 1/2 cup of barley towards the end of cooking time. Make sure the broth completely covers all ingredients. -- Skipped the celery (forgot it) but added chopped cabbage & chopped kale. I also sprinkled in some basil & thyme. Needed more salt for flavoring. - 11/18/10
