- Number of Servings: 16
Ingredients
Directions
1/2 cup margarine1/4 c brown sugar, packed1 tsp vanilla extract1/2 c dark chocolate1 tbsp peanut butter, smooth1 1/2 c oats1/4 c milk
1. Place parchment paper in a pan (9x6 or so), or grease.
2. Melt the margarine in a medium saucepan and add the sugar and vanilla. Lower the temperature to medium and add the oats, stirring until all is combined. Cook this for 2-3 minutes, then spread half or a little more of the mixture into the pan and press it down. You can use a spoon for this, or wait for it to cool a bit and do it with your fingers.
3. Melt the chocolate with the peanut butter, and milk. You can do this over VERY low heat in a saucepan, stirring constantly, or in a double boiler. Spread (or pour depending on the consistency) over the oat layer in the pan. Make sure it is quite even.
4. Put the remaining half of the oat mixture over this, pressing it gently. Refrigerate for as long as you want, but at least an hour and a half. When serving, return the slice to room temperature, and cut.
Makes 16 small slices.
