Tuscan Bean Soup with Sausage

Ingredients
1 Tbsp. olive oil1 pkg. Italian turkey sausage, sweet or hot, with casings removed (about 6 links)2 tsp. fennel seed1 onion, chopped1/2 head cabbage, shredded2 garlic cloves, minced1 can white beans, rinsed and drained2 cans Swanson 99% Fat-free chicken broth28 oz. reduced-sodium Italian-style diced tomatoesBlack pepper, to taste
Directions
Heat the olive oil in a large saucepan over medium heat. Add the sausage and fennel seeds and cook until no longer pink. Remove from pan, leaving pan juices. Add onion and cook for 2 minutes. Add garlic and cabbage and cook for 2 minutes. Return sausage to pan with beans, chicken broth and tomatoes. Heat to boiling, then lower heat and simmer covered for 20 minutes. Season to taste with black pepper.
