Hazelnut tea loaf

2.5 cups of whole wheat flour0.5 cup wheat bran1 packet baking powder (15.5g)0.75 cup brown sugar (unpacked)1.5 cup milk1 egg0.75 cup ground hazelnut0.5 cup whole hazelnuts
Pre-heat oven to 150C.
Sieve together the flour and baking powder, and stir in the sugar and bran. Lightly whisk the milk and egg and combine with the flour (but don't over-work it). Fold in the hazelnuts and pour in a large loaf tin lined with greaseproof paper. Bake for 1 hour (until a knife blade comes out clean).
Makes 20 slices (around 1cm thick).
