Glazed Ham and Sweet potato kabobs

2-4 large sweet potatos peeled and cut into large chunks12 oz ham, 1/4 inch thick, cut into large chunksPineapple chunks, drained well2 C prepared rice (optional)GLAZE1/4 C butter2 TBSP Molasses1/4 C packed brown sugar2 TBSP cider vinegar1 TBSP worcestershire sauce1 TBSP yellow mustbard1 tsp cinnamon1/8 tsp red pepper flakes12 in skewers
1. Prepare grill
2. Prepare skewers as directed by package
3. Put cut potatoes in a shallow dish with 1/4 C water. Cover and microwave 5-10 minutes or until fork tender (don't over cook, do not want them mushy)
4. Drain and cool about 5 miutes
5. Prepare glaze
6. Combine all glaze ingredients in saucepan. Bring to a boil over high heat. Reduce heat to medium high. Continue boiling 2-3 minutes or until sauce has been reduced
7. Thread skewers alternating between potato, ham and pineapple. Start and end with Ham
8. Arrange skewers on grill. Cover and cook 2 minutes. Turn and cook 2-3 minutes or until potatoes are slightly brown. Baste with sauce. Turn and baste other side. Cook a couple more minutes to set glaze.
9. Let stand 5 minutes before serving
Can serve over rice
