Crockpot Beer Braised Beef with Root Vegetables, garlic and Barley

Ingredients
Beef Chuck Tender Roast, 2.6 poundsWhite Pearl Onions, 150 gramsTurnips, 466 grams Parsnips, 270 grams Carrots, raw, 350 grams Red Potato, 500 grams Fosters Beer, 24 oz Garlic, 50 grams Bay Leaf, 1 Beef Broth, 2 cupMedium Pearled Barley 100 gramsOnion Soup, Recipe and Dip Mix, 29 grams
Directions
Roughly chop all vegetables and garlic.

Add all ingredients to Crockpot and cook on LOW for 6-8 hours. Remove Bay Leaf before serving.

Remove meat, vegetables and and Barley and place on a warming plate. Pour remaining liquid into a Ziplock bag and allow 10-15 minutes for it to rest. Fat will rise to the top. Cut a corner of the bag and drain into a seving bowl, stopping before the fat reaches the cut. Serve with the meat and vegetables.

This meal is also good with a side of rice or toast. (Not included in nutritional information.)

Serves 8 -- appr. 5 oz of meat and equal shares of vegetables.
