Hubby's German Chocolate Birthday Cake

Ingredients
Cake3/4 cup unsalted butter1 3/4 cup sugar1/2 teaspoon of salt2 teaspoons of expresso powder2 teaspoons of baking powder2 teaspoons of vanilla2 cups King Arthur flour3/4 cup dutch-process cocoa4 large eggs1 1/2 cup cool waterIcing1 cup semisweet chocolate chips or 1- 6 oz bag1/2 1% milkTopping6 tablespoons of unsalted butter1/4 teaspoon of salt1/4 cup 1% milk1 cup light brown sugar1 teaspoon of vanilla extract1/8 teaspoon of pecan flavoring1 cup shredded toasted coconut1 cup chopped pecans toasted
Directions
Cream together first 6 ingredients, beat for 5 minutes. Add eggs one at a time, beating. Stir in cocoa. Alternate adding water and flour. Bake at 350 for about 40 minutes, until cake tester comes out clean. Cool for 10 minutes, then turn out on rack.

Icing:

Heat chocolate chips and cream together, stir till chocolate melts and is creamy. Slather on cake.

Topping

Add first 4 of the ingredients in saucepan, simmer gently for 5 minutes, add flavorings coconut and pecans. Put on top of cake. Yummy.
