Grandma Dean's Slow Cooker Chicken and Dressing

1 (2 1/2 pound) rotisserie chicken, boned and shredded (about 4 cups)6 cups coursely crumbled cornbread6 (1-ounce) firm white or whole wheat bread, torn into pieces2 14 oz cans chicken broth2 (10 3/4 oz) cans cream of chicken soup1 medium onion, chopped3 celery ribs, chopped4 large eggs, lightly beaten2 tsp ground sage1/2 tsp pepper1/4 tsp salt1/2 cup butter
Combine all ingredients except butter in a large bowl. Transfer mixture to a lightly greased 5-quart round slow cooker. Dot evenly with butter.
Cover and cook on HIGH for 3-4 hours or on LOW 7 hours or until set. Stir well before serving.
