Ingredients
Directions
Meatballs:1 lb hamburger1 tsp salt1/2 c. dry bread crumbs(I use 1 piece of whole wheat bread toasted and put into the food processor)1 egg2 Tbsp onion, minced1/4 c milk1/2 tsp Worcestershire sauceShape into meatballs and bake on cookie sheet at 400 degrees for 15 minutesSauce:1/2 cup brown sugar1 can pineapple chunks or tidbits with the juice1 Tbsp corn starch1 Tbsp soy sauce1/3 c vinegar1/2 cup green pepper, diced
Mix together meatball ingredients. Shape into meatballs and bake on cookie sheet at 400 degrees for 15 minutes.
Make sauce in a large skillet, combining all ingredients except green pepper. Stirring constantly, heat to boiling. Turn down heat and add meatballs. Cover and simmer for 10 minutes, stir occasionally. Add green peppers at end and serve over rice.
Makes 6 servings.
(This is also just a great meatball recipe to serve with BBQ sauce or marinara sauce. If so bake for 25-30 minutes, turning once.)

It was really good! I didn't have canned pineapple, but I had a can of fruit cocktail, of which I added a cup. Very delicious! I also baked the meatballs for about 30 minutes, after 15 minutes I checked them, turned them over, and cooked an additional 15. I also simmered them for one hour. - 9/27/09

I made this two days ago, and I thought it was very tasty. Somethng different, as most of us are used to sweet and sour pork or chicken. Also, fairly easy to make. I like the idea of baking the meatballs, and will use this method from now on if I wanna add them to spaghetti sauce. - 11/5/09

This is the same way I make my meatballs; however, I've never used worstershire sauce, this was a nice touch. The sweet and sour was AMAZING. I used fresh pineapple, white vinegar (it didn't specify), and flour instead of cornstarch. My husband absolutely loved this and the leftovers were great! - 10/14/10
