Green Chile Stew

Ingredients
4 whole cloves6-8 poblano chiles2 tablespoon oil1 pound beef for stewingsalt to taste or Homemade Adobo1/2 teaspoon black pepper, ground1 onion, chopped1 large carrot, coarsely chopped4 garlic cloves, chopped5 red potatoes, medium, quartered2 tomatoes, medium, diced1 teaspoon cumino, ground1 tablespoon oregano, ground1 beef broth cube1/4 cup cilantro, chopped1 can white beans (optional)
Directions
Broil chiles until charred and place in sealed container to steam.
When cooled, peel skins, remove stem and seeds. Coarsely chop and set aside.
Heat oil in large pot.
Season beef with adobo and cook until browned over medium high heat about 5 minutes.
Add onion and garlic, cook until soft about another 5 minutes.
Add 3 cups water, bring to boil, lower heat, partially cover pot, allow to simmer until meat is tender, about another 30 minutes.
Add potatoes and carrots, cook until potatoes are soft another 20 minutes.
Add tomato, cumin, chiles, cloves, oregano, beef broth, cilantro and beans if using.
Simmer covered another 30 minutes.
Serve with white rice or warmed corn tortillas.
