Ingredients
12 brats1 onion sliced2 tbsp butterenough beer to cover everything in the pot...about 3 bottles.
Directions
cut the onion into slices and then cut those slices in half so that you have long thin strips of onion to top your brats after everythings cooked.
in a pot add the brats, onion, and butter. then add enough beer to just cover everything and bring it up to a boil. once it comes up to a boil take the heat down to a simmer and cover the pot and let that sit for 10 minutes.
while that's simmering preheat the oven to 400 degrees F. (if it takes longer than 10 minutes for the oven to preheat then turn the stove off, but leave the pot on the warm burner and keep it covered.) once the oven preheats place the brats on a broiler pan and cook for 15 minutes and then flip and cook for another 15 minutes (leave the onions in the beer pot). you could also grill them if you don't want to do them in the oven. once they're done you can place them back in the beer pot to keep them warm.
