Ingredients
Raw Yellow Mung dal - 0.5 cup, 2 serving (remove)Raw Orange Masoor dal - 0.5 cup, 0.75 serving (remove)Onions, raw, 0.4 cup, chopped (remove)*Canola Oil, 2 tbsp (remove)Ginger Root, 2 tsp (remove)Garlic, 1 tsp (remove)*Cumin seed, 1 tsp (remove)Mustard seed, yellow, 1 tsp (remove)Salt, 0.75 tsp (remove)*Jaggery, 1 tbsp (remove)lemon juice
Directions
Wash and cook both dals with 6-8 cups of water with salt and jaggery until soft.
Heat oil. Add cumin and mustard seeds and add hing when the mustard starts spluttering. Add chopped onions and ginger-garlic paste and saute until brown and soft. Add cooked dal and cook for some more time. Stir in cumin and coriander powder for flavor, cook and turn off heat. Add a dash of lemon juice, mix and serve hot.
