arborio riceminced shallots and garlic1 tsp each butter and olive oil1 cup chicken broth1/4 cup white wine8 threads of saffron
place butter and oil in glass pie plate and melt in microwave. add rice, shallots and garlic, stir until coated and microwave on high for 2 minutes. add chicken broth, wine and saffron and microwave on high for 10 minutes. stir. repeat cooking cycles, stirring each time, until rice is very thick.
