Me, my husband and my 5 yr old have just had this for our tea, but with extra juice and added water instead of the beer. the chicken soaked up all the juices and tasted super, I used fresh pineapple. we then added some cornflour to the juices and thickened it and served with rice. Will def do again! - 1/29/09

First bite was different but then it really worked for my husband and I. The chicken absorbed all the flavoring. You could really taste the onions, soy sauce and pineapple. Couldn't really taste the beer. The chicken was really tender. - 1/2/08

Seemed to be bland and dry. Thought it would be sweeter tasting. - 10/20/07

This was alright, but it was missing something. I agree that the pineapple flavor was not very strong. Maybe fresh pineapple would be better than the canned. - 8/18/07

I thought it was bland as well. The pineapple really soaked up the beer taste so I only ate the chicken & it really didn't have much flavor at all. - 8/27/07

I used fresh pineapple and extra juice but it was bland. My husband ended up using a lot of A 1 Sauce to get some flavor. I was disappointed. - 8/24/07

I thought the pineapple taste was just enough, particularly not being too much of a fan of sweet flavors. The beer evened out the flavors and it was great over brown rice with sauteed green snap peas and garlic. Yum. - 8/22/07

Edible, but bland. My husband, the pineapple freak....wasn't impressed by it. I guess we thought it would be more pineappley tasting too. - 3/26/07

This is an awesome dish!!!! The chicken soaked up the juices and was very tender. I added more pineapple juice than what the recipe called for - there was no beer taste at all. - 3/21/07
