Nonni's Spaghetti Sauce

Ingredients
2 T Canola Oil1 medium Onion chopped1.3 # Ground beef1 # Italian Sausage, pork2 raw pork hocks 2 6 oz cansTomato Paste2 15 oz cansTomato Sauce2 28-oz cans Red Pack Whole Peeled Plum Tomatoes2 T italian seasoning1 T kosher salt1-1/2 t. black pepper
Directions
In a big pot, saute onion, ground beef and italian sausage in canola (or olive) oil until no pink remains. Drain well. Return meat and onion to pot and stir in tomato paste. Add tomato sauce and canned tomatoes (smoosh the tomatoes before adding to pot). Add spices and stir to combine well. Bring to a simmer on medium heat. Add pork hock. Simmer on low for 4 hours, stirring occasionally. Remove pork hocks and discard bones and fat and shred pork and return to sauce. Serve over pasta or whatever.
