quick lentil soup

red Lentils, 300 grams Carrot, raw, 1 large (7-1/4" to 8-1/2" long) Vegetable Broth, 2 tbsp 7 cups water half tsp cumin powder half tsp sambal olek or chilli powder
. Bring water to a boil
. while waiting shred the carrot
. add carrot and red lentils to boiling water
. add spices and broth as well
(As a quick option I use ready made broth but home made is- as always yummier)
. let boil for 10 minutes then whisk it strongly to make the lentils disolve and the soup thick.
. add salt if you like it or if your broth did not contain enough
. makes 8 servings of a cup
