I have made this twice now and both time my family has eaten every last bite. Gravy is nice and thick and tastes wonderful! I make home-made biscuits so the calories are less. - 6/15/08

I used skim milk, and turkey sausage. That helped a bit with the calorie count. Very helpful recipe, thank you!

Not exactly "diet" friendly, but Very good!
Also, it's hot! IF you don't like it that hot, I suggest you cut back on the pepper! I made a 1/2 batch and used 1tsp pepper, and I still had to add more milk so my son could eat it! :P

This was way to peppery for me. I had to ask my husband if I read/wrote down the amount right (tsp/tbsp) needless to say sausage down the drain as I only had 2 bites. - 12/13/08

Didn't use as much pepper as it called for. Just did to taste, but too floury for my taste. Will reduce that and add some seasoning next time, such as sage. Overall it was okay, not bad for first time I ever made the gravy from scratch. - 1/25/14

This recipe was also passed down in my family only we add pepper to taste. It tastes out of this world but the calories, cholesterol, etc. is TERRIBLE! That is why we don't make it very often and when we do I call it Heart-attack Special! - 1/6/14
