here is a maybe stupid question, what is a serving size? a 1/2 cup, 1/4cup? I see it says serves 6 but I like knowing the serving size. - 10/8/09

1 tbsp of cinnamon was way too much for my family. Next time I will use less-other than that it was great! I added chopped pecans for a little crunch at the table. - 9/10/07

I made it last night because I knew today would be busy. The recipe turned out a little soupier than I expected, but was still delicious. Next time, I'll just tweak it a bit to better suite my family, although I still love it the way it was. - 9/9/07

It took me a few bites to get used to the texture of this dish, but after that, I just gobbled it up. This is a very easy recipe, and it was a nice change to my normal breakfast routine. - 3/24/07

It smelled wonderful in the morning, but it was a little too acidic for me. I also didn't feel it was very much of a serving unless doubled. - 9/14/07

At first I wasn't sure I liked it and then I kept wanting more and more. :) I added one packet of splenda and about a half a cup of milk to a double portion for breakfast today. Very good! Just be careful not to overcook. MIne almost burned! - 3/18/07

I think it's berry good! The first thing I thought when I tasted it was "orang you glad you made it?" The serving sizes are questionable, but the total was ampple. The oats were delic. any one who doesn't like it would be nuts! Thank you. - 12/29/09

I detested oatmeal!! Knowing the health benefits I knew I had to like it somehow, and after trying this recipe I'm in love with it!! perfect texture for me and right amount of ingredients, however I did not have the apple on hand so I added a little more cranberries, DELICIOUS. - 6/2/13

I don't know if I cooked this for too long, but overnight on low left the oatmeal looking like brown slime, as someone also mentioned. May try again using the keep warm option on my slow cooker? - 11/8/10

I doubled it as I have a large slow cooker but same proportions. Perfect amount of cinnamon. Modifications - grape juice instead of orange, and dried cherries instead of cranberries.I 'm set for breakfasts for the week. It is filling and I loved how the apples were still a tiny bit crunchy. - 9/11/10

I did not have cranberries, so I used a trail mix dried fruit & nut mix. Apple juice with the juice of one clementine. Half the water & apple pie seasoning. Half the recipe served 2. I was very good! - 12/22/09

Calories and servings way off, info states 1/2 cup dry oatmeal per serving, but only calls for 1 cup for 6. Too much liquid, much better with no Oj and some grated peal instead. - 5/16/17

Hmmm...I checked my oatmeal after 6 hrs on low & all the sugar from the oj burnt & formed a skin on the bottom of my pot. The oatmeal melted away & I was left with liquid. It did firm up a little once I put it in the fridge but had a weird consistency. The flavor was good but I'll bake it next time. - 11/15/15

I am not a big oatmeal for breakfast fan. I would like to be. I think maybe next time I will try no O.J. I like oatmeal once in a blue moon filled with brown sugar and low fat evaporated milk. - 10/19/13

The serving size seems a bit small and the ratio of liquid to rolled oats a bit high. Adjust according to your taste, and recalculate the calories on the recipes section of sparkpeople.com. - 3/14/13

Tasty...A tip for any hot cereal crockpot recipe that I use and it saves on the clean up and the risk of a "soupy" consistency...Put 3 cups of water in a large crockpot, mix your cereal in a casserole dish an place the casserole dish in the crockpot to cook. It adds moisture to the cereal.

i was really disappointed. it smelled terrific but looks like lumpy brown slime. after tasting it, i think there may be too much water and/or orange juice. also, i don't think i could get 6 servings out of this. - 10/17/07

I was not fond of it. My kid, husband and the 2 kids I watch were also not fond of it. I love oatmeal and cranberries, so I thought this would be great. It was a little soupy and acidic. - 10/3/07
