You can reduce the amount of fat in your cooked ground beef in HALF by rinsing it under water and draining it. I do it all the time and it doesn't affect the taste at all.

So Yummy! I made this one a couple of weeks ago and loved how easy it is... I added some fresh garlic and a few other spices as well... and put in more mushrooms too! Definitely a recipe that is now in our rotation! - 3/24/08

Very good and tasty, too. I was dying for some Stroganoff. HOWEVER, it isn't all that low cal and if you are also on another weight watcher plan, this racks up 11 pts. Use it as a treat, not a mainstay in your diet dinner rotation. Other posters have given some great ideas for tweaking cals. - 8/10/08

I found this recipe to be very easy. I added an additional 1/2 cup of mushrooms and another TBSP of sour cream. Even with those additions, my calorie total per serving was only 392. Next time I would add some spices. Overall - very good! - 2/18/08

This was soooo good, and so easy to make. I love that it makes exactly 2 portions. I find it difficult to find recipes for two, and it is a pain to have to divide servings into 4 portions just to figure out how much I am supposed to eat. Thanks for the great recipe. - 2/5/09

Everyone ate it, but it was a little bland even with additional sour cream. I sauteed the mushrooms before adding. I should have added onion and garlic to the meat and it would have been tastier. - 2/5/09

I would be wiling to bet that the nutritional info is for the entire pot of this stuff - not an individual serving.. if you use supreme lean sirloin the fat is much much lower 50-65% lower - use ground chicken or turkey to reduce it even more! I will be trying this soon with turkey.... - 2/6/08

Next time I will use all whole wheat. My husband and son both loved it and the 3 of us ate the 4 servings! - 2/11/09

I always buy extra lean hamburger and cook it on a george forman grill which lets all the fat of the meat drip off before adding it to anything i'm making the fat content listed per serving is a little outrageous if you are purchasing lean burger and draining the fat off... I will make this.. - 2/3/08

I have a question. Cuddlesuk says you have to keep our daily total fat grams under 30 in order to lose weight. But my Sparkpage says I can have between 32-56 grams of fat per day. Nutritionists say keep your daily fat intake at or under 30% of your total calories. That isn't the same thing. - 2/2/08

Use 1/2 bag of Boca Crumbles in place of the ground beef and your fat goes down to under 4 grams! Most people can't tell the difference when it's mixed in something. I calculated it using ff greek yogurt instead of sour cream and added 1/4 cup of chopped onion, 1 c LF Crm of Mshrm. - 1/28/11
