Introduction

Ingredients

    1 1/3 cup flour
    1 1/3 cup old fashioned oatmeal
    1/2 cup brown sugar, packed
    1/2 cup sugar
    1 cup chocolate chips
    1 tsp baking soda
    1 tsp baking powder
    1/4 tsp salt
    1/2 cup melted butter
    1 egg
    1 tsp vanilla extract

Directions

Mix flour, baking soda, baking powder and salt together. Add oatmeal, brown sugar, sugar and chocolate chips, stir. Add egg, vanilla and melted butter and stir until combined.

Shape dough into balls about the size of a small walnut and place 2 inches apart on a greased baking sheet.

Bake at 350 degrees for 10-12 minutes or until lightly browned.

Makes about 30 cookies.

    Delicious! I made some changes. 1/4 cup marg and 1/2 cup applesauce instead of butter. Also 1/3 whole wheat flour 1 cup white flour. Splenda instead of sugar. - 5/14/09

    I replaced the 1/2 c of butter w/ 1/4 ea margarine and unsweetened applesauce and added one mashed banana (because it needed to be cooked with at this point) very yummy. - 6/30/08

    Very nice! I sub'd sugar free chocolate chips,and Splenda granular and brown sugar blend. did not find these dry at all -- maybe looked that way before making into balls to bake, but turned out fine! - 3/25/14
