Ingredients

    16 oz. grated sharp cheddar cheese - low fat
    8 oz. fat free cream cheese, softened
    1 Tbsp. Worcestershire sauce
    1/2 tsp. onion powder (not onion salt)
    1/2 tsp. garlic powder (not garlic salt)
    1/4 cup sliced almonds


Directions

Combine all ingredients thoroughly. (reserve half the nuts for later if desired*) Form into a log and refrigerate until firm. Roll in chopped nuts &/or parsley if desired. Cover tightly with plastic wrap until ready to serve. Allow cheese ball to soften a bit at room temperature before serving.

*For more attractive presentation, log can be rolled in additional chopped nuts .... or for fewer additional calories, etc. use fresh chopped parsley or sprinkle with a bit of paprika. Coating choice will affect nutritional info slightly.

    Very good... is a lot of cheddar for the small amount of cream cheese so I almost doubled the amount of that and it was good - 12/31/09

    I, too, make a similar dip, but I use fat free cheddar, leave out the almonds and onion powder, but add chopped green onions and cayenne pepper. - 11/11/13

    I make a cheese ball that's similar to this, except it uses 2 pkgs of cream cheese, and add 1 TBS of minced green pepper, and onion. If you add minced onions I don't think you'd want to add onion powder, too. I roll mine in chopped pecans. Everyone loves it. - 2/22/11
