It sounds pretty good but what do I do with the beans? All the recipe says is follow the directions on the box? - 11/30/08

Sorry about that, I put the beans with the water in my magic bullet and then puree it, or you can use a blender or food processor. Then combine the water mixture with the dry brownie mix and pour into greased 9x13 pan. THEN follow the baking directions on the box :)

Sounds good but I agree that the calories and particularly the carbs don't seem to be correct. Can anyone verify? - 11/30/08

    O.K.
Outstanding flavor! Only negative is that they are difficult to cut. Should be 4.5 stars but the system will not take my choice. - 3/8/12

    Incredible!
I used a Betty Crocker Mix which had 100 calories per serving X 20 servings = 2000 calories per box + 1/2 cup beans have 110 calories = 2110/15 = 141 rounded to nearest one. I cut my 13x9 pan of brownies into 15ths, 5 length 3 width. If you cut it into 20ths, its 106. Chocolate fiber!!!!! - 4/5/11

the calories depend on your brownie mix. here is the calorie equation:
    - brownie serving calories (prepared) x number of servings + black bean serving calories x number of servings in can / number of brownie servings

Okay, but not good enough for the calories, the actual count at a minimum is at least 175 calories per serving. The brownie mix calorie count is based on 1/20th of a serving, so the calorie count is much higher. You'd be better off just using the mix, applesauce, egg subsitute and still save 50 cals - 1/28/09

There's only 1 serving of brownie mix used to calculate the calories, not the entire box. (probably 12 or 16 servings) - 1/8/09

My brownies are baking right now. I figured 213 for calories and 1 gram of Fat.

    That's for the whole box!!
