Introduction
very good and very easy very good and very easyNumber of Servings: 8
Ingredients
-
3 Cups Shredded Mozzarella
1 Cup Shredded Colby & Monterey Jack Cheese
4 eggs
1 tsp Garlic Powder
1 tsp Basil
This is the basic recipe for the crust - 16" size.
I use a 13 x 9 pan for mine.
You can use your own mix of cheese - even reduce it by one cup/one egg to make less...I like my crust a bit thicker so I use 4 cups of cheese, 4 eggs, for thinner crust use 3 cups of cheese and 3 eggs. You can also vary the seasonings you use, if you have a favorite blend use it.
Directions
Bake at 450 degrees until browned to desired crispness/doneness
it does not stick to the pan - trust me!
Top with 1/4 cup pizza sauce (more if you like more but if watching carbs, use 1/4 cup); use any mix of meats or other toppings as desired. Once you add the toppings you want (including any additional cheese you want on top) - put under the broiler until the cheese is melted to desired point.
ENJOY!

This is an awesome recipe. It was invented by a great lady on the low carb boards - and there are infinite versions out there. I make mine with 2 cups cheddar/1 cup mozzarella/3 eggs and with oregano instead of basil, plus a little flax - 2 tablespoons - to hold it together better. YUM! - 4/30/10

I too have begun using Flax as a binder and heck, it's just good for ya! Thanks for chiming in :)

This is a keeper! I love that I have all the ingredients in my house at all times. When not following low carb I use to make a crust my family has been making for years and it was always a go to on nights when no supper was planned and no meat was in the house. I can still do it now with this one. - 4/2/13

I tried a small one with totally fat free cheddar and fat free mozarella. I added a sprinkle of garlic powder and italian herb seasoning. Used my small teflon fry pan but did spray first. 15 minutes and it came out perfectly crisp and slid right out of the pan. I was amazed it tasted so good ! - 4/7/18

My Atkins hubby liked this! Our only problem was it sticking to the cookie sheet and fortunately we had a strong metal spatula. Wish we had read the reviews of others first, but agree -- prespray the cookie sheet with spray oil or to use parchment paper lining - unless using nonstick cookie sheet - 10/14/16
