A delicious treat made with pure maple syrup. A delicious treat made with pure maple syrup.
Number of Servings: 4


    4 Boneless Chicken Breasts
    1/2 C White Flour
    Salt and Pepper to taste
    1 Tblsp. Olive Oil
    1/2 C Pure Maple Syrup
    1 Tblsp Butter
    1 Large Onion, finely chopped
    1 tsp thyme
    3/4 C Chicken Broth


Makes 4 servings, one breast each

Place flour, salt & pepper in bag with chicken.
Shake well.
Remove chicken and place on a plate.
**Save remaining flour for use later**
Heat Olive Oil in large fry pan. Brown chicken on each side for 5 minutes.
Remove chicken and add butter to pan
Add onion & brown for 1 minute.
Add remaining flour from bag & cook for 1 minute.
Stir in broth & thyme, simmer until slightly thickened.
Place chicken in fry pan and cover. Simmer on low heat for 15 minutes. Add maple syrup & simmer on medium heat, uncovered for 5 minutes.

    I didn't have thyme so I used some other spices and it came out fine. Maybe a bit too sweet and next time I will use less maple syrup so that it is a bit more caramelized rather than saucy. - 7/18/10
