    1 Large Apple
    1 tsp light butter
    1 C. brown rice
    1 C. Water
    1 Tbs Cinnamon
    4 Cups light Soy or Almond Milk
    3 Tbs splenda brown sugar
    1/3 cup craisins
    1 tsp Vanilla
    Cream (optional, not included in nutritional values)
    Honey (optional, not included in nutritional values)


1.Peel the apple and chop into small pieces then set aside.

2. Butter the bottom of a saucepan

3. Put rice, water, cinnamon in saucepan over medium heat until it has come to a boil.

4. Then cover pan and lower to a simmer for 10-15min until the rice has absorbed all the water.

5. Add milk to saucepan and adjust heat till the mixture is simmering. Then put heat on low and add the brown sugar, chopped apple, and craisins, stir gently.

6. Cover and allow to simmer for 45 minutes, as it cooks it will thicken, stir once or twice while cooking.

7. Turn off heat and add vanilla, then you are ready to serve or store for a later time.

Serve with cream, or honey, or whatever your family likes best!
