    373 grams (about 12 ounces) garbanzo beans
    15 grams (about 1 TBSP) low fat plan yogurt
    1 TBSP lemon juice
    1 TSP chopped garlic
    3 TBSP Sesame Oil
    Salt to taste


Makes 12 2-TBSP servings

Drain and rinse garbanzo beans. Puree the garbanzo beans in a blender or food processor with the yogurt, lemon juice and garlic. With the machine running, add the sesame oil slowly, until the hummus becomes thick and creamy.

Add salt and pepper to taste

Serve with any flat bread.

Store remaining beans in a covered container in the refrigerator for up to 5 days.

  • This is a good recipe, but I ended up using 2 T sesame oil and 1 T olive oil because the dark sesame oil I used was so strong. I think this would be good with a head of roasted garlic too. I'll try that next time! - 6/1/08
