Introduction
This is mostly organic, since I am just getting into using those ingredients and cooking with more fresh food. Gradually this will evolve. For now, it's a delicious dish that is quick and easy to prepare, healthy, and my picky family loves it! Ingredients
-
Ground Beef 93% Lean (sirloin, grass-fed), 2 pounds
365 Organic Italian Tomatoes, Diced, 14.5 oz can
365 Organic Crushed Tomatoes with Basil, 28 oz can
365 Organic Pasta Sauce, Original, 25 oz jar
Contadina Tomato Paste with Italian Herbs, 1 small can
Barefoot Cabernet Sauvignon, 1 cup
Garlic, minced, in jar, Spice World, 2 tsp
Olive Oil, Extra Virgin, Bertolli, 3 tbs
Directions
Put olive oil in large pot, and then brown beef. Add other ingredients, one at a time stirring well after each addition. I typically pour the wine in first so that it really soaks into the meat tenderizing it nicely. The extra lean beef needs that extra moisture and the bit of fat from the olive oil. Let this come to a boil, then reduce heat and simmer until meat is done or your desired heating time. Once my meat it done, I generally let mine sit for about 20 minutes on the lowest heat possible - it keeps it warm but marinating.
I serve this over white-whole-wheat angel hair pasta. You can also use quinoa pasta for less gluten and a little different taste.
This makes approximately 18 1/2 cup servings.
