    1# lean ground beef
    1 19 oz. (approx. 2.2 c.) can of black beans, rinsed
    1 c. onion, chopped
    3/4 c. chopped red pepper/or green (approx. 1/2 pepper)
    1 t. Mrs. Dash, original
    1/2 t. chopped garlic
    2 c. Classico Roasted Portabello Mushroom pasta sauce
    1/4 t. ground black peppercorns


Spray non-stick fry pan with oil and saute onions, garlic & peppers with ground beef for 10 minutes or until beef is cooked. Add spices, black beans & 2 c. sauce. Cook for an additional 20 minutes.
Serves 5 (1 cup) portions. Serve with brown rice, whole grain bread & spinach salad.

    tastes OK but too much like I just added beans, meat and peppers to a jar of tomato sauce, which I eat all the time. I was looking for a black bean sauce more like you'd find in a chinese restaurant. - 3/17/13
