    1 cup raw barley
    1 pound of Beef Round Steak or Minute Steak
    1 cup fresh sliced mushrooms
    3/4 cup chopped onions
    3/4 cup of chopped celery
    12 beef bouillon cubes
    6 cups of beef or pork broth (I use what is left after preparing a roast or ribs or you can use canned broth
    6 cups of mixed vegetables or any vegetables you like.
    2 tablespoons Basil
    3 quarts Water
    Salt and pepper to taste


Put everything together in a 6 quart crockpot , Add water to 5.5 quarts and and cook it on medium all day long.
