Ingredients

Sauce
3 tbs Hoisin Sauce
2/3 cup of water
3 tbs rice vinegar or white vinegar
3 tbs Soy Sauce
1 tbs cornstarch
3-4 tbs vegetable oil
2 cloves garlic (minced)
1 small fresh chile pepper seeded and diced
18oz tofu
1 large head of broccoli (5 cups)
1/3 cup dry sherry
1 bunch of scallions (1 1/2 cups)
1 red bell pepper
Optional
salted peanuts as topping
Directions
Serves 4 people
serve with either rice or pasta
in a large skillet heat 2 tbs of oil on medium high. Stir fry garlic and chile for 30 seconds then add tofu and continue stir frying for 3-4 minutes to lightly brown the tofu.
Remove the tofu and set it aside.
Add 1 tbs of oil to wok and heat, add the broccoli and cook for 1 minute then add the dry sherry cook for 3 minutes if the Broccoli starts to brown add a little water
Add scallions and the bell pepper (technically the pepper is optional) continue to cook for a minute return the tofu to the pan then add the sauce stir carefully and bring to a simmer for 3-4 minutes or until sauce thickens.
