Grandma's homemade low fat bran muffins Grandma's homemade low fat bran muffins
Number of Servings: 12


    3/4 cup whole wheat flour
    1/2 cup white flour
    1 - 1/4 tsp baking soda
    1/2 tsp salt (or less)
    1/2 tsp cinnamon
    1/4 cup splenda-brown sugar
    3/4 cup natural bran
    3/4 cup all bran buds
    1/3 cup raisins
    1 egg
    1/4 cup unsweetened applesauce
    1 cup 1% milk with 2 tsp lemon juice (to make buttermilk)
    1/3 cup orange juice
    1/3 cup grated carrot
    1 Tbsp oil
    1 Tbsp molasses


Mix all dry ingredients with carrots and raisins
Add all liquid to dry ingredients
Stir and add to muffin tins
Bake at 350 for 17 - 20 minutes
Makes 12 muffins
